Care Assistant
We currently have an opportunity for a part time (15 hours per week) Care Assistant at our registered care home, Haselwood Avenue, in Hoddesdon. We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic person who enjoys helping others and seeing the difference their support can make to enable individuals to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
Haselwood Avenue is a registered residential care home, offering day to day support with personal care, hoisting, meal preparation and assistance with medication. Located within an 8 bedroom bungalow, the scheme includes a communal lounge and kitchen/diner.
What You will Do:
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping individuals live as independently as possible. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Aid with the daily administration of medication
- Supporting with personal care in a dignified and respectful way
- Encouraging life skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and budgeting
- Organise trips to local amenities
- Promoting independence and helping residents achieve their personal goals
- Following tailored support plans and risk assessments to ensure safety and wellbeing
As a Care Assistant you will;
- Provide appropriate support to service users who are living in their own homes or in a supported housing setting to enable them to support their aspirations and maximise their independence.
- Provide personal care but your role will also involve promoting life skills such as shopping, managing budgets and supporting with domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
- Build long lasting support relationships with people who will benefit from you "being the difference".
- Follow agreed support plans and risk assessments to ensure that we are providing a service that meets each individual’s needs.
