About Us

At L’Arche UK, we operate as a dedicated national charity and social care provider specialising in supported living, community hubs, and day opportunities for adults with learning disabilities. Established with a core commitment to mutual relationships, inclusion, and empowerment, our mission is built on creating homes and communities where people with and without learning disabilities live and work together as peers, celebrating each person's unique value and gifts.

Who We Are

Operating through a network of local communities across the United Kingdom, our organisation brings together core members (adults with learning disabilities), assistants, local volunteers, registered managers, and specialised support teams. Fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in England and equivalent regional care regulators, we work hand-in-hand with local authorities and families to foster inclusive environments that champion human dignity and belonging.

What We Do

We deliver an integrated suite of residential care, supported living, and community participation solutions:

  • Supported Living Communities: Providing welcoming, shared residential homes where adults with learning disabilities receive personalised care while actively participating in shared household life.
  • Outreach & Domiciliary Support: Offering tailored, flexible support services that empower individuals to live independently within their own homes and local neighbourhoods.
  • Day Opportunities & Workshops: Operating community hubs, art studios, and social enterprises that provide meaningful daily activities, skill-building, and creative engagement.
  • Friendship & Advocacy Programmes: Fostering community-building initiatives that combat loneliness, build confidence, and ensure the voices of people with learning disabilities are heard.

Our Approach & Values

  • Mutuality and Belonging: Moving beyond traditional care models to foster genuine, reciprocal relationships where everyone contributes and receives support as equals.
  • Person-Centred Respect: Tailoring all support plans to honour the personal choices, spiritual needs, and emotional wellbeing of every individual.
  • Inclusive Communities: Creating safe spaces that challenge societal barriers and promote the active integration of people with learning disabilities into wider society.

Industry Role

We operate as a Specialised Charity and Social Care Provider. Our role is to act as a trusted national community partner delivering compassionate residential support, independent living pathways, and inclusive social infrastructure across the United Kingdom.
