Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to improve the lives of others through attentive caregiving and support. Experience in senior care, dementia, Alzheimer's, or hospice care is highly desirable. Duties
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
- Provide specialised care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive impairments
- Support patients with medication administration following prescribed protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Offer emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Facilitate behaviour management strategies to ensure a safe environment
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks related to client care environments
- Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
- Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when necessary
- Document care provided accurately and report any concerns to supervising staff
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care procedures, including medication administration and behaviour management
- Experience with dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, or senior care is advantageous
- Familiarity with caregiving tasks such as meal preparation and heavy lifting is beneficial
- A valid driving licence is desirable for transportation duties
- Certification in first aid or related emergency response training is a plus
