Job Summary
The Healthcare Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including care homes and home care environments. This position involves assisting patients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of care plans. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a compassionate nature, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support individuals in daily living activities, including meal preparation and feeding.
- Help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Document patient progress and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
- Drive patients to appointments or activities as required (driving may be necessary).
Skills
- Proficient in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in a care home or home care setting is mandatory.
- Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
- PMVA training
- Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. This role is essential for ensuring that individuals receive compassionate and effective support tailored to their unique needs, contributing positively to their quality of life.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.21 per hour
