Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes.
This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in our care, particularly seniors and individuals with specific health conditions such as Alzheimer's and dementia.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Support clients with mobility and physical tasks, which may involve heavy lifting.
- Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
- Engage in first aid practices when necessary and ensure a safe environment for all clients.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, or senior care is an advantage.
- A background in caregiving or nursing is beneficial for understanding the specific needs of clients.
- Experience with childcare may also be considered valuable for those supporting families or younger clients.
- Certification in first aid is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided.
