Registered Manager
Serene Surroundings LTD are currently recruiting for a Registered Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the children’s homes, ensuring high standards of care, compliance with Ofsted regulations, and a safe, supportive environment for young people.
The Registered Manager will be responsible for:
- Safeguarding, staff leadership, quality assurance, and the continuous improvement of the service
- Leading the daily operations of both homes, ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted standards
- Working under the direction of the Responsible Individual to implement strategic goals
- Maintaining oversight of staffing, rotas, budgeting, health and safety, and service delivery
- Chairing team meetings and ensuring effective communication across the service
- Holding on-call responsibilities and providing Tier 2 out-of-hours support
- Representing the organisation at meetings and contributing to business development
- Ensuring the safety and welfare of all young people, promoting their rights to privacy, independence, and choice
- Leading on safeguarding practices, ensuring prompt responses to incidents and referrals
- Overseeing the development and implementation of individual care plans in collaboration with professionals and families
- Supporting young people’s emotional, social, and educational development
The Registered Manager will have:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Working towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care
- A current First Aid qualification
- A qualification in safeguarding children and young people
- Recognised qualification or training in behaviour management
- Experience working with external professionals (e.g. social workers)
- Experience managing staff, including rotas and cover arrangements
- Experience working with young people with additional needs
- Experience in planning and coordinating activities with others
- Experience in care planning and person-centred planning
- An understanding of working with children who display challenging behaviour
- The ability to use own initiative and exercise sound judgement
- The ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
- A commitment to staff development
- Discretion, patience, and a good sense of humour
- The ability to maintain appropriate professional relationships and boundaries
- Proven experience working in a children’s residential setting
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 09:00am – 17:00hrs
