Support Worker - Dom Care
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, hospice care, and childcare environments.
This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for those we serve, ensuring their comfort and well-being through attentive care.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation and medication administration.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safety during transitions.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations while respectfully providing care.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to develop tailored care plans.
Requirements
- Previous experience in patient care, childcare, or similar roles is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is advantageous.
- Must have a full valid driving licence (maximum 3 points).
- Certification in First Aid is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules within the care environment.
