Registered Children’s Home Manager
Location: Required for new Home in Benfleet, Essex SS7
Salary £52-£62K depending on experience Plus bonus
We are looking for a Children’s Home Manager to open an amazing new 2-bed Children’s Home for emergency placements supporting 8-18-year-olds with EBD and challenging behaviours.
Our home is modern and bright.
The owners require someone who is enthusiastic and energetic.
Quality is key. We seek a person who is consistent, reliable, and has the knowledge to run a home effectively. Someone who cares and will always find a solution.
The team, including the Responsible Individual and Directors, will be there with full support and encourage training qualifications and progression.
Registered Manager Skills and abilities
- Ability to demonstrate reasoning, numeracy, literacy, and technology skills to the required standard.
- Ability to work as a team, working closely with colleagues and other agencies.
- Ability to solve problems.
- Able to work within the principles of the Children’s Act.
- Demonstrate a sound working knowledge of Child Protection Issues and Procedures.
- Sound knowledge of Children’s Homes procedures and relevant issues.
- Ability to exercise authority.
- Proven leadership and management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
Registered Manager's knowledge and experience.
- At least 1 year of working experience as a Registered Manager in a Registered Children’s Home where the rating of their home is good to outstanding
- A minimum of two years’ experience at a senior level in a Children’s Home.
- Experience working with Children who have Mental Health, Emotional & Behavioural difficulties
- Have a very good understanding of the children’s homes regulations and quality standards, 2015
- Have good knowledge and experience working as a designated safeguarding lead in children’s residential home (s)
Registered Manager qualifications
- The Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (or you are willing to work towards this), or NVQ Level 4 Health and Social Care (Children’s Pathway) combined with a Leadership and Management Qualification
