Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Care Home (Ofsted / EBD / Level 5)
Location: Hull, East Yorkshire
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum (DOE)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (subject to Ofsted registration)
Working Pattern: Monday–Friday with on-call rota
Role Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential care home supporting up to 3 children aged 8–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
This is a start-up children’s residential care opportunity, offering involvement in the Ofsted registration process from the outset.
All policies and procedures for the children’s home are already professionally written, allowing the Registered Manager to focus on leadership, safeguarding, compliance, and quality care.
This role is suitable for an experienced Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in children’s residential care, ready to step up.
Flexible Entry Options
Pre-Registration (Part-Time / Remote):
- Support the Ofsted registration and Registered Manager interview
- Attend and pass the Ofsted fit person interview
- Review children’s home documentation (no policy writing required)
- £300 per month during registration
- £1,000 bonus on successful Ofsted interview
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is fully funded
Post-Registration (Full-Time):
- Permanent Registered Manager – Children’s Home position
- Salary £50,000 – £60,000 per annum
- Lead the children’s residential home from opening onwards
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Registered Manager in line with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted Quality Standards
- Lead safeguarding and promote the welfare of children and young people
- Recruit, manage, and supervise staff within a children’s residential setting
- Oversee care planning and outcomes for children with EBD
- Complete Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 quality assurance
- Participate in an on-call rota
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Care
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete)
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted inspections and regulations
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
- Full UK driving licence
