Care Duties
- Personal care
- Bathing, according to the service user requirements, ensures that all essential aspects of personal hygiene are attended to
- Assist with toileting
- Assist in the management of continence
- Assist with dressing/undressing
- Assist with mobility and transfer using any specialised equipment provided correctly
- Assist with feeding
- Administer prescribed medication, only as directed by a qualified medical practitioner and only when completed on a Medication Instruction Sheet
- Domestic Care
- Undertake essential domestic duties only when directed in the care plan, such as preparing meals, attending to laundry, and ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
- Social Care
- Have sensitivity and ability to listen, provide support to individual service users and their carers.
The following activities may be included:
- Sitting for relief
- Talking/socialising with the service user
- Initiating relevant social activities
- Managing affairs under the direction of the care plan, such as shopping
Reporting & recording:
- To maintain detailed, accurate records in respect of care and medication support given and tasks undertaken
- To regularly read care plans and risk assessments, acknowledging changes
- To protect the confidentiality of all information relating to the Service User and not divulge information to anyone who is not authorised to receive it.
- To promptly report to the office or Out of Hours any issues concerning the care, support and well-being or behaviour of the Service User and update records accordingly
- To continue to monitor where concerns have been reported and recorded
- To recognise the signs of abuse and immediately report or suspect abuse to the Manager
- To contact the office or Out of Hours if running late or unable to attend a call as soon as you possibly can
Other Duties
- Complete our induction programme, in-house training and online training
- Attend meetings (Staff, Assessment, Team)
- Adhere to and ensure safe practice according to Health & Safety procedures
- Any other appropriate duties as directed by Clogher Valley Care Ltd
- Ability to work short notice and unsociable hours

General Requirements:
You will be required to:
- Co-operate fully with the implementation of CVC’s Health & Safety arrangements, reporting any incidents/accidents/equipment defects to your manager.
- Adhere at all times to all CVC’s policies and codes of conduct, for example, Standards of attendance, appearance and behaviour
- Contribute to ensuring a high standard of environmental cleanliness within your designated area of work
- Co-operate fully regarding CVC policies and procedures relating to Infection prevention and control
- Represent CVC's commitment to providing the highest possible standard of service to service users and members of the public, by treating all those with whom he/she comes into contact in the course of their work in a pleasant, courteous and respectful manner.
- Employees must conduct themselves with impartiality, integrity, objectivity and honesty and maintain high standards of personal and professional accountability
- To dress appropriately, wearing a uniform and PPE provided by Clogher Valley Care Ltd
- Employees are expected to demonstrate commitment to CVC by ensuring regular attendance at work and efficient completion of duties
- Own transport
- All information concerning clients and staff must be held in the strictest confidence and must not be divulged to any unauthorised person

Qualifications
- Experience in home care settings and familiarity with care plans
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
- Valid driving license to facilitate travel to clients' homes
- Compassionate and patient demeanour to provide quality care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
