We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical history and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Support patient care activities by helping with hygiene, mobility, and comfort measures tailored to individual needs.
- Prepare examination rooms and assist during procedures such as X-ray imaging or minor surgeries within outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Maintain accurate documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including recording vital signs, medication administration details, and ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for diagnoses.
- Support hospital operations by managing medical supplies inventory, restocking equipment, and ensuring the cleanliness of clinical areas.
- Assist with medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in specialized units such as the ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Geriatrics to provide consistent patient support aligned with physiology and anatomy knowledge.
Qualifications
- Proven experience or training in hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dermatology, internal medicine, medical-surgical procedures, emergency medicine protocols, and trauma center operations (Level I & II trauma centers) is preferred.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and medical terminology to accurately document patient information.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications, such as X-ray operation or medication administration, are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of physiology and anatomy to assist effectively in diverse clinical scenarios.
- Previous hospital experience in inpatient settings or specialized units like Geriatrics or PICU is a plus.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as emergency departments or outpatient clinics while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
