About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Registered Manager with a clinical background (RGN/RMN) to lead the establishment and growth of a new Supported Living Service from inception. This is a pivotal leadership role requiring proven experience in building services from the ground up, developing teams, and expanding regulated activities across Personal Care and Treatment of Disease, Disorder, or Injury (TDDI).

The successful candidate will bring a strong network of professional relationships with commissioners, ICBs, and Local Authority contacts, and be able to leverage these to secure care packages and grow our service regionally.

Key Responsibilities

Service Setup & Registration

Lead the end-to-end setup of a Supported Living Service, ensuring CQC compliance and successful registration.
Develop, implement, and review policies, procedures, and governance frameworks aligned to best practice and regulatory standards.
Oversee quality assurance and compliance audits, ensuring the service achieves “Good” or “Outstanding” CQC ratings.

Service Development & Growth

Present at interview a draft business and growth plan, detailing timelines, resource requirements, and regional expansion strategies.
Build strong partnerships with commissioners, ICBs, and Local Authorities, leveraging existing contacts to secure care packages.
Drive the expansion of the service across multiple regions, adapting delivery models to meet local needs and demand.

Team Leadership & Management

Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
Provide strong clinical and operational leadership, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Ensure the team is trained and competent in delivering safe, compassionate, person-centred care.

Regulated Activities

Oversee delivery of Personal Care and TDDI in line with clinical governance requirements.
Maintain robust safeguarding procedures and ensure staff adhere to professional codes of practice.

Stakeholder Engagement

Proactively engage with commissioners, social workers, and health professionals to ensure smooth onboarding of care packages.
Represent the service at local, regional, and national forums to raise profile and influence key decision-makers.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Current NMC registration as RGN or RMN.

• Proven track record of setting up a Supported Living Service from scratch.

• Demonstrated experience in scaling services, securing new care packages, and developing regulated activities.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, mentor, and inspire teams.

• In-depth understanding of CQC regulations and compliance requirements.

• Established professional relationships with commissioners, ICBs, and Local Authorities.

• Excellent business acumen with the ability to prepare, present, and execute service growth strategies.

• Flexible, innovative, and resilient leader able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

• Experience with Ofsted Registration.

• Evidence of achieving “Outstanding” ratings in previous services.

• Strong project management and service development background.

• Experience working across multiple regions simultaneously.
