About Us

At First Thought Care Services (FTCS), we’re proud to be a service like no other.

Founded in 2020, we’ve grown into a multi-disciplinary organisation that supports children, young people, and adults aged 0–65 through every stage of life - from early intervention and education, to supported accommodation, community outreach and independent living.

Our approach is simple but powerful: we lead with consistency, compassion, and communication.

We believe in doing the right thing, even when no one’s watching - and that belief underpins everything we do.

We operate through a unique Pod Model of leadership, which ensures that every manager, practitioner and person feels supported and connected. Our teams work collaboratively across Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, offering bespoke care, education and wellbeing pathways tailored to each individual we support.

We’re an organisation built on lived experience, professional expertise and innovation. Our founder, Jack Cook, created FTCS to challenge outdated systems and build a service that genuinely changes lives - one where staff feel valued, families feel heard, and individuals are empowered to achieve their fullest potential.

At FTCS, no two days are ever the same - but one thing always is: our commitment to people.

Whether it’s a child learning to communicate in new ways, a young person taking their first step towards independence, or an adult gaining confidence in their community - we’re there every step of the way.

If you’re looking for a workplace where your voice matters, your growth is encouraged, and your work truly makes a difference - you’ll find it here.
