At Hestia, we operate as one of the largest providers of domestic abuse and mental health services in London. Established in 1970, our mission is to empower adults and children to rebuild their lives, recover from crisis, and secure a safe, independent future free from fear, trauma, and disadvantage.

Who We Are

Headquartered in London and operating as a registered charity (No. 294555) and company limited by guarantee, our organisation supports tens of thousands of individuals every year across London and the South East. Working alongside dedicated staff, specialist support workers, and volunteers, we partner with local authorities, health trusts, and communities to deliver life-changing interventions.

What We Do

We deliver an integrated suite of specialist support, housing, and advocacy services:

• Domestic Abuse Refuges & Support: Providing safe emergency accommodation, community outreach, and specialist advocacy (including Independent Domestic Violence Advisors) for victims and survivors.
• Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Support: Operating dedicated safe houses and recovery programmes for adult survivors of modern slavery and trafficking across England.
• Mental Health & Wellbeing Services: Delivering community support, crisis houses, and supported accommodation to help individuals manage mental health conditions and live independently.
• Adult Social Care & Supported Living: Providing specialised housing and 24-hour support for adults with complex physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and support needs.
• Children & Young People Services: Offering dedicated therapeutic support, counselling, and safe environments for children impacted by domestic abuse and trauma.
• Public Campaign & Safety Initiatives: Pioneering community safety schemes, such as the UK Says NO MORE campaign and the nationwide Safe Spaces initiative in pharmacies and banks for domestic abuse victims.
