About Us

Integrated Care 24 (IC24)

Integrated Care 24 (commonly known as IC24) is a major gold-standard social enterprise and charitable organisation providing a wide range of primary care, urgent care, and NHS clinical services. The organisation is a key partner to the NHS, delivering integrated healthcare solutions across the South East and East of England, including Kent, Sussex, Norfolk, and Essex.

Who We Are

Integrated Care 24 operates as a not-for-profit social enterprise, reinvesting any financial surplus back into the development of its clinical services and staff.

The organisation functions as a strategic urgent care provider, managing several high-pressure clinical environments. They are a clinically-led body, meaning their operational decisions are driven by doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals rather than purely commercial interests.

IC24 is a significant employer in the healthcare sector, with a workforce of over 1,500 staff and several hundred self-employed GPs. A Board of Directors governs the organisation and is a prominent member of the Social Enterprise UK network, reflecting their commitment to social value and ethical business practices.

All services operate in line with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, with a focus on delivering rapid, safe, and effective care during out-of-hours periods and emergencies.

Delivering essential primary care services when regular GP surgeries are closed, including telephone consultations, home visits, and base visits by qualified clinicians.

Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC)

Managing Urgent Care Centres and "front-door" hospital services that treat minor injuries and illnesses, helping to alleviate pressure on local A&E departments.

Health and Justice Services

Providing specialist healthcare within custodial settings, such as prisons and police custody suites, ensuring high standards of clinical care for vulnerable populations.

Primary Care Portals & Digital Health

Utilising advanced telemedicine and digital triage tools to improve patient access to clinical advice and reduce waiting times across the healthcare system.

CAS (Clinical Assessment Service)

Running integrated Clinical Assessment Services where multi-disciplinary teams of clinicians provide high-level advice to patients over the phone or via video link.

Approach & Values

Integrated Care 24 focuses on quality, innovation, and social value.

They prioritise patient safety and clinical excellence, ensuring that their "Right Care, Right Place, Right Time" philosophy is embedded in every triage and consultation. Their approach is designed to be collaborative, working as a seamless extension of the local NHS infrastructure.

A strong emphasis is placed on social responsibility, where as a social enterprise, they aim to improve the broader health and wellbeing of the communities they serve through ethical employment and sustainable service delivery.

Industry Role

Integrated Care 24 plays a critical role in stabilising the UK urgent care system, acting as a primary buffer for NHS emergency services.

As a pioneer in integrated urgent care, the organisation contributes to national healthcare policy by demonstrating the effectiveness of the social enterprise model in public service delivery.

They offer extensive employment and training opportunities for GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), and 111 Health Advisors, providing a dynamic environment for those looking to specialise in urgent and emergency primary care.
