About Us
Omega Care Group Ltd (Omega Care)
Omega Care Group Ltd (often operating as Omega Care or Omega Life) is a specialist provider of high-quality children’s residential services and supported accommodation. The organisation focuses on supporting children and young people aged 4 to 25, particularly those with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), to achieve their full potential.
Who We Are
Omega Care operates as a specialist therapeutic care provider, functioning as a crucial partner for local authorities in England and Wales.
The organisation is led by a management team including Caron Lackenby (Director of Care) and Craig Birch (Operations Manager), with a philosophy rooted in the mantra "Care is just the start." Their model is built on the "LIFE" approach—Listen, Inspire, Fortify, and Empower—which aims to move beyond basic maintenance toward active personal growth and life-skills development.
Headquartered in the North West (with offices in Runcorn), they maintain a growing network of residential homes and training flats. They are known for utilizing the PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy) therapeutic parenting model, pioneered by Dan Hughes, to support young people with attachment issues and trauma.
All services are heavily regulated, with residential homes registered with Ofsted in England and the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) in Wales.

Parent & Baby Support (Anda House)
Specialist provision in Widnes for young parents to develop parenting skills and bond with their babies in a safe, holistic, and therapeutic environment.
Step Down & Floating Support
Assisting young people as they move from high-acuity residential settings back into the community or less restrictive living arrangements.
Behavioural Support & Therapeutic Intervention
Providing in-house expertise, led by Behaviour Support Leads, to create bespoke recovery-based and solution-focused care plans for each individual.
Approach & Values
Omega Care focuses on aspiration, resilience, and empowerment.
They prioritise therapeutic parenting, ensuring that all staff are trained in trauma-informed care and the PACE model. Their approach is designed to be transformative, aiming to provide not just a bed, but the safety and security necessary for a young person to "aspire to something bigger and better."
A strong emphasis is placed on individuality, where young people are encouraged to personalise their living spaces and have a meaningful voice in their own care journey and future planning.
Industry Role
Omega Care plays a significant role in the Children’s Social Care sector, particularly in the North West and Wales.
As a specialist EBD provider, the organisation helps local authorities manage some of their most complex placements, providing a high standard of therapeutic care that aims to break the cycle of placement breakdown. They are key participants in the "Transforming Care" and "Transition to Adulthood" policy agendas.
They offer extensive career opportunities for care professionals, emphasising that working for Omega is "more than just having a job" and providing robust internal training in therapeutic models and safeguarding.
