About Us

Pebbles Care (operating legally under Pebbles Care Ltd) is a UK‑based specialist provider of residential childcare, trauma‑informed therapeutic support, and integrated special education services.

The organisation delivers comprehensive, person‑centred care within safe, nurturing environments across its multi‑regional network, helping children and young people build resilience and positive outcomes.

Who We Are

Pebbles Care operates an extensive network of small residential children's homes and independent special schools. The group specialises in supporting vulnerable children and young people aged between 5 and 18 who have experienced developmental trauma, adverse childhood experiences, placement breakdowns, or present with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

The organisation has scaled into a major national provider, managing dozens of specialist homes positioned across a wide geographic footprint spanning England and Scotland. The group coordinates its cross‑border regional networks and clinical infrastructure from its primary operational headquarters in Leeds, alongside a major administrative base in Dunfermline, Scotland.

The service combines structured relational support, a proprietary trauma‑informed therapeutic model, individualised learning pathways, and proactive step‑down transitional coaching to support each young person’s holistic development.

The cross‑functional care and education teams include qualified residential childcare practitioners, registered home managers, systemic psychologists, and dedicated special school teachers who create personalised development programmes tailored to the immediate safety, emotional regulation, and academic goals of each young person.

Pebbles Care’s operational frameworks ensure strict statutory compliance across different jurisdictions, working under the rigorous inspection standards of Ofsted in England and the Care Inspectorate alongside the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) in Scotland.

What We Do

Therapeutic Residential Childcare Placements Providing safe, trauma‑informed housing provisions and home support where young people live and learn with consistent support to recover personal confidence, managing solo, dual, or group placements in highly nurturing, family‑style properties.

Specialist SEN Day & Residential Education Delivering coordinated care that integrates nurturing academic environments across specialised day schools like Create Distance Learning, catering to pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges or speech and language needs.

The Nurturing Programme & Behavioural Support Offering bespoke educational guidance, independent lifestyle mapping, and customised behavioural regulation structures designed by an in‑house psychology team to help children safely process past trauma and reduce crisis incidents.

Step-Down & Post-16 Transitional Mentorship Using relationship‑based screening and transitional practice tools as part of strategic frameworks to prepare adolescents for independent adulthood, semi‑independent living arrangements, or positive returns to foster care and biological families.

Approach & Values

Pebbles Care focuses on a child‑centred, relationship‑led care approach that respects each young person’s individuality, history, and potential. Its values—built around showing unconditional positive regard, creating a true sense of belonging, and investing heavily in the continuous professional development of its frontline workforce—are embedded in professional practice and support every aspect of the individual’s development.

Industry Role

Pebbles Care operates within the UK children's social care, independent special education, and local authority commissioning sectors, providing specialist residential placements, alternative transition frameworks, and emergency stabilisation models that help vulnerable individuals to overcome adversity and achieve meaningful long‑term outcomes.
