About Us

Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership (RHSCP) is a major public sector body in Scotland responsible for the delivery of integrated adult social care and community health services.

The organisation functions as a joint venture between Renfrewshire Council and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, ensuring that healthcare and social support are coordinated seamlessly for the residents of Paisley, Renfrew, Johnstone, and the surrounding areas.

Who We Are

RHSCP operates as an Integrated Care Organisation, established under the Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Act 2014. They function by merging the resources of the local authority and the NHS to provide a "joined-up" approach to health and wellbeing. The partnership is governed by the Integration Joint Board (IJB), which is responsible for the strategic planning and operational oversight of all delegated services.

The organisation is led by a Chief Officer and a multidisciplinary senior management team. Their model focuses on prevention and early intervention, aiming to support people to live independently in their own homes and communities for as long as possible, thereby reducing unnecessary hospital admissions.

They maintain a massive operational footprint, managing hundreds of staff across health centres, care homes, and community clinics, all working toward the vision of a "healthier, happier Renfrewshire."

What We Do

Adult Social Work & Support

Managing assessments and support plans for adults with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and older people requiring long-term care.

Community Health Services

Delivering essential clinical care through District Nursing, Health Visiting, Podiatry, and Speech and Language Therapy directly in the community.

Mental Health & Addictions

Operating the CIRCLE Recovery Hub and Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) to provide integrated support for those facing mental health challenges or substance misuse.

Care at Home (Domiciliary Care)

Providing personal care and domestic assistance to vulnerable residents, ensuring they are safe and well-supported in their private residences.

Learning Disability Services

Offering specialist clinical and social support for adults with learning disabilities and autism, including day opportunities and respite services.

Occupational Therapy & Equipment

Sourcing and installing aids and adaptations to help individuals maintain mobility and safety within their home environment.

Approach & Values

RHSCP focuses on person-centred care and community empowerment. Their approach is built on the "GIRFEC" (Getting It Right For Every Child) and similar adult frameworks, prioritising outcomes over simple service delivery. They value collaboration, working closely with the third sector and voluntary organisations like the Renfrewshire Carers Centre to ensure a holistic support network for unpaid carers and their families.

Industry Role

RHSCP operates at the heart of the Scottish public healthcare and social work sector. They run Statutory Social Work, NHS Community Clinics, and Rehabilitation services. They are a primary commissioning body, responsible for purchasing care services from private and voluntary providers while maintaining their own internal delivery teams to meet the complex needs of the Renfrewshire population.
