About Us

The Grocott Centre is a UK‑based community day opportunity provider and registered charity.

The organisation delivers comprehensive, person‑centred support within safe, community‑based spaces across its regional hubs, helping vulnerable individuals build resilience and positive outcomes.

Who We Are

The Grocott Centre operates a dedicated day opportunity hub and social club configured specifically for adults and older people living with learning disabilities, dementia, and physical impairments.

The organisation was established as a localised charity to champion the welfare and social inclusion of vulnerable groups across North Staffordshire. Based within the Blurton Community Hub in Stoke‑on‑Trent, the charity manages its localised service frameworks, enterprise spaces, and community outreach teams from its headquarters at Ingestre Square.

What We Do

Skill Cultivation and Day Opportunities

Providing safe, compliance‑informed training provisions and support where individuals learn with consistent support to recover personal confidence, utilising practical project blocks covering horticulture, woodcraft, and health and fitness.

Independence and Life Skills Training

Delivering coordinated care that integrates nurturing community support, vocational learning, and accredited training by guiding members through practical kitchen routines, budgeting tasks, personal safety concepts, and healthy food preparation to foster independent living.

Citizenship and Community Navigation

Offering bespoke educational guidance, independent lifestyle mapping, and community navigation workshops that focus on crucial daily milestones, utilising supported volunteering opportunities with local facilities and partners to build a strong sense of citizenship.

Multi‑Media and Digital Literacy Training

Using member engagement as part of strategic frameworks to bridge digital divides, introducing modern tech modules every Friday that support creative communication, computing confidence, and technical expression.

Approach & Values

The Grocott Centre focuses on an individual‑centred, empowerment‑driven support approach that respects each person’s individuality, history, and potential. Its values—deeply built around removing local barriers to employment, maximising physical and social independence, and building a lively, member‑led social community—are embedded in community practice and support every aspect of the individual’s development.

Industry Role

The Grocott Centre operates within the UK third‑sector disability provision, local authority care commissioning, and Staffordshire social enterprise sectors. Because the charity delivers specialised day care packages, community group hubs, and independent lifestyle programs.
