About Us
Treloar's (operating legally under the Treloar Trust) is a UK‑based provider of specialist, highly complex education, intensive clinical therapy, and residential care solutions for physically disabled children and young people.
The organisation offers holistic, person‑centred care within safe, community‑based spaces and specialised residential provisions across regional hubs, helping vulnerable individuals build resilience and positive outcomes.
Who We Are
Treloar’s operates one of the UK’s largest non-maintained specialist schools and further education colleges, supporting individuals aged 4 to 25 who have profound physical disabilities, complex medical needs, severe communication challenges, and sensory impairments.
The organisation was established historically in 1907 by the then Lord Mayor of London, Sir William Purdie Treloar, and has evolved into a leading national charity operating state‑of‑the‑art, fully integrated campus environments across Hampshire and the wider United Kingdom.
The service combines structured specialist education, intensive clinical therapy, independent life skills development, and assistive technology engineering to support each individual’s holistic development.
The care and support teams include over 800 expert staff, including specialist teachers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, registered nurses, and dedicated student support assistants who create personalised development programmes based on each student's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Treloar’s specialised residential and clinical frameworks ensure that all students receive 24‑hour wrap-around care, therapeutic tracking, and transition planning to prepare them for independent adult life or supported community living.
