About Us

Welcare

At Welcare, we provide practical and emotional support to families with children up to the age of 13. We are dedicated to creating safe, stable, and happy environments where children can thrive, ensuring that no family has to face life's challenges alone.

Who We Are

We are a leading family support charity working across South London and East Surrey. With a history rooted in compassion, we believe that by supporting parents and carers, we can improve the long-term outcomes for their children. We provide a bridge for families experiencing difficulties—such as financial hardship, domestic abuse, or social isolation—helping them build the resilience needed to move forward.

What We Do

We offer a wide range of services designed to strengthen family life and promote child well-being:

  • Family Support Services: We provide one-to-one support, including home visits, to help families manage daily challenges and develop practical parenting skills.
  • Group Programmes: We facilitate community-based groups that provide a space for parents to share experiences, gain advice, and reduce social isolation.
  • Child Development Support: We run activities and programmes that focus on the emotional, social, and educational needs of children, helping them reach their full potential.
  • Practical Assistance: We offer support with essential needs, including access to food, clothing, and other resources, to relieve the immediate pressures on struggling families.
  • Counselling & Advocacy: We provide professional guidance and advocacy to help families navigate complex systems, such as housing or social services.

Our Approach & Values

  • Early Intervention: We believe in the power of early support to prevent problems from escalating, focusing on building long-term family stability.
  • Empowerment-Focused: Our goal is to equip families with the tools, confidence, and resources they need to become independent and self-sustaining.
  • Inclusivity & Dignity: We treat every family with respect and compassion, providing support that is non-judgmental, tailored, and accessible to everyone, regardless of their background.
  • Collaborative Working: We work closely with schools, local authorities, and other community partners to ensure a joined-up approach to family welfare.

Industry Role

We operate as a Registered Charity and Family Support Provider. Our role is to act as a vital safety net within the community, alleviating pressure on statutory social services by providing preventative, community-based care and support that keeps families together and healthy.
