About Us

At Young Foundations, we are a specialised, family-owned provider dedicated to offering children, young people, and young adults safe, nurturing, and therapeutically designed environments. Our mission is to combine clinical excellence with warm, family-like care homes and specialist education to help vulnerable young individuals heal from trauma, build resilience, and successfully transition toward independent lives.

Who We Are

Operating across England, Scotland, and Wales, our organization specializes in supporting young people aged 7 to 25 who navigate complex needs, autism, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions (including serving as an alternative to or progression from Tier 4 CAMHS placements). Guided by multidisciplinary clinical teams and experienced educators, our homes focus on strong, trusting relationships, robust safeguarding, and high-quality residential standards.

What We Do

We deliver an integrated suite of specialist residential care, clinical support, and educational pathways:

  • Specialised Children's Homes & Step-Down Services: Operating warm, family-like residential homes (such as Binley Woods, Green Lane, and The Red House) designed to support safe and managed transitions out of hospital or secure settings.
  • Integrated Multidisciplinary Clinical Support: Incorporating consultant child psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and specialist nurses directly into our homes to deliver tailored psychological treatment programs and medication management.
  • Specialist Independent Schools: Providing dedicated education (across facilities such as Oaklea Grange, Stafford Hall, and Mortimer House School) tailored for pupils who find mainstream education challenging, supporting them to achieve accredited qualifications.
  • Young Adult Residential Services: Offering specialised transitional accommodation and support for young adults aged 16 to 25 (such as Acrefield House) to foster lifelong independence.

Our Approach & Values

  • Relationship-Based Ethos: Prioritising trusting relationships, dedicated key workers, and empathetic mentorship to help young individuals feel secure, valued, and understood.
  • Holistic Recovery & Education: Blending therapeutic care models with engaging age-appropriate education to bridge gaps caused by disrupted schooling.
  • Collaboration & Stability: Working hand-in-hand with local authorities, social workers, families, and healthcare professionals to achieve positive, long-term placement outcomes.

Industry Role

We operate as a Specialised Residential Childcare and Special Education Provider. Our role is to act as a trusted social care and health partner, supplying the clinical infrastructure, therapeutic residential homes, and educational frameworks required to support children and young adults with complex needs.
