About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) to take on the role of Care Home Manager for our 60-bed residential and nursing home. This is a key leadership position requiring a clinically skilled, confident professional who can manage a large care team, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and management within a care home setting, and a passion for delivering outstanding care in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Team Management
- Provide strong leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary care team.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and manage staff to ensure high performance and morale.
- Foster a positive, collaborative culture that prioritises respect, compassion, and accountability.
Clinical Excellence & Resident Care
- Oversee all clinical aspects of the home, ensuring care is delivered in line with best practice and NMC standards.
- Carry out assessments and develop detailed, person-centred care plans.
- Ensure safe medication management and monitor clinical risk.
- Act as the clinical lead and support residents with complex health conditions.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations and maintain a rating of Good or Outstanding.
- Conduct audits, prepare for inspections, and lead the implementation of any improvement plans.
- Maintain meticulous records and reporting systems for safeguarding, incidents, care delivery, and staff training.
Operational Management
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring smooth and effective operations.
- Manage budgets, resources, occupancy, and financial targets.
- Liaise with external stakeholders including GPs, social workers, local authorities, and family members.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- NMC Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) – Essential
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior leadership role within a care home (Deputy Manager or Registered Manager).
- Proven experience managing a service of 40+ beds, ideally including nursing and dementia care.
- In-depth knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, and health & safety legislation.
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people-management abilities.
- Experience in budget control and business planning.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards).

Salary Range: 45,000 to 55,000 GBP
