Overview
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Bassetlaw Care Home Team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is a senior clinical role leading on support and education to care home providers across Bassetlaw, as well as providing clinical support and advice to residents with complex long-term conditions.
This post is for 12 months. Secondments considered.
You will join an established team of Band 5,6 and 7 Nurses and have the opportunity to develop this relatively new service in line with the National Enhanced Framework for Care Homes 2020.
Based out of Retford Primary Care Centre, you will be predominantly covering the care homes in the Bassetlaw locality.
Role
- Applicants should have recent demonstrable experience of working in care homes and delivering training and education to this staff group.
- You will have an excellent understanding of the current agenda and be able to demonstrate clinical knowledge and the ability to lead within a service.
- You will have excellent clinical knowledge with advanced problem-solving and critical thinking. You will also demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Please note that applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
