We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring a high standard of care.
This role is vital in promoting the well-being and comfort of our patients, while also working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to implement care plans.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
- Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes in condition to the nursing staff.
- Assisting residents at meal times as required, ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for patients.
- Engage in training and development opportunities to enhance skills in IT systems relevant to patient care.
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Experience in a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential.
- Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
- Proficient in IT skills for maintaining patient records and using healthcare software systems.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
