Caedmon House is a bright, friendly 9-bed home supporting individuals with a range of needs, including nonverbal communication and behaviours that may be challenging. Our residents are curious, fun, playful, and love a good party, day out, or simply a cuppa and a chat. Some even enjoy volunteering at a local farm!
We’re looking for Support Workers who are positive, patient, proactive, engaging and person-centred—people who can think outside the box, bring a warm smile, and happily work weekends to support our vibrant home.
Caedmon House was once a Whitby hotel and still carries that charm. It’s now a beautifully refurbished home sitting right next to the seafront on the popular West Cliff. With beaches, shops, parks, the Pavilion, and leisure activities all within walking distance, it’s an amazing place to work and support people to live fulfilling lives.
No Experience Needed
If you have a compassionate nature and a can-do attitude, we’ll give you all the training, tools, and confidence you need to thrive.
What You’ll Be Doing
No two days are the same! You’ll support residents to live as independently as possible, at home and out in the community. Duties may include:
- Providing companionship and building strong relationships
- Supporting activities, hobbies, and trips out
- Assisting with mobility and personal care
- Monitoring, recording, and administering medication
- Light household tasks
- Shopping support
- Food preparation
- Communicating with colleagues to ensure great continuity of care
Being a driver is helpful but not essential; many of our fantastic team do not drive.
