Registered Manager – Children’s Residential ServiceLocation: Coulsdon / Purley (CR8)Salary: £48–55k + 10% bonus + £3k Outstanding Inspection bonus
We are recruiting a Registered Manager for a new children’s residential service within an existing Outstanding Ofsted-rated organisation. The service uses a therapeutic, relationship-based model called Intentional Parenting to support children with complex and challenging needs, including EBD.
Role Overview:You will lead the day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations and National Minimum Standards. You will work closely with the Residential Director and Deputy Manager to embed therapeutic practice and develop staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the home, including Ofsted inspections and maintaining rating
- Conduct monthly Reg 44 visits and lead on Reg 45 reporting
- Manage and develop staff through supervision, training, and recruitment
- Ensure care plans are implemented and reviewed, supporting placement and CIC reviews
- Maintain a safe, high-quality environment and promote positive routines
- Lead safeguarding and ensure children’s welfare is protected
- Manage budgets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Provide on-call/out-of-hours support as required
Essential Requirements:
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or working towards)
- Previous Registered Manager experience in a children’s home or residential setting
- Experience of Ofsted inspections and Reg 44 visits
- Must be over 20 years old (Ofsted requirement)
- Experience working in a Good or Outstanding service
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Driving licence and ability to pass Ofsted Fit Person assessment
- Knowledge of safeguarding, the Children Act, and therapeutic childcare
