Care Home Manager – Strathburn House, Gairloch
Strathburn House is a warm, community‑focused residential care home located in the heart of Gairloch. The home provides high‑quality care for older adults, supported by a dedicated and compassionate team.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Care Home Manager to lead the service, ensure excellent standards of care, and drive continuous improvement aligned with NHS Highland values and national care standards.

Role
As the Registered Manager with the Care Inspectorate, you will hold responsibility for the day‑to‑day leadership and operational management of Strathburn House.
You will ensure the delivery of safe, person‑centred and outcome‑focused care in line with National Care Standards, Human Rights‑based practice, and Care Inspectorate regulatory requirements.
You will work collaboratively with the wider Highland Health & Social Care Partnership, local GPs, community teams, and family carers to maintain an excellent care environment where residents feel respected, valued and supported.
In This Role, You Will
- Lead the staff team to create a culture of dignity, respect, compassion and choice for residents.
- Act as the Care Inspectorate Registered Manager, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and timely completion of required returns.
- Oversee care planning, reviews and quality assurance processes to ensure excellent outcomes for residents.
- Manage staffing, including recruitment, supervision, rota planning and performance management.
- Provide visible leadership, supporting continuous learning, development and reflective practice.
- Maintain effective links with families, carers and external partners.
- Manage the allocated budget and resources for Strathburn House, ensuring safe and efficient service delivery.
- Support and promote integrated working within the wider NHS Highland and community teams.
This role comes with the offer of a relocation package if you are currently outside of NHS Highland.

Additional Information For Candidates
- Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
