Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong leader who is committed to delivering outstanding care and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
As Registered Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory frameworks and creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive.
You will play a key role in shaping the culture of the home, leading your team, and driving standards to achieve Good or Outstanding outcomes with Ofsted.
Key Responsibilities
- You will oversee the daily operations of the home, ensuring it runs in line with regulatory requirements and maintains a positive, child-centred culture.
- This includes leading and developing staff, managing safeguarding concerns, and ensuring all care practices promote the safety, wellbeing and development of the children.
- You will take on the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring all incidents and concerns are handled appropriately and in line with safeguarding procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records, completing Regulation 44 and 45 requirements, and ensuring the home is always inspection-ready will also form a core part of your responsibilities.
- Alongside this, you will oversee care planning to ensure each child receives tailored support that promotes education, independence and emotional wellbeing.
- You will work closely with external professionals, including local authorities, schools and healthcare providers, advocating for the best outcomes for each young person.
- You will also be responsible for recruitment, supervision and ongoing development of your team, ensuring staff are well-trained, supported and motivated.
- In addition, you will manage the home’s resources effectively, ensuring a safe, comfortable and homely environment at all times.
Requirements
To be considered, you will hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or be working towards it), alongside a Level 3 or 4 qualification. You will have at least two years’ recent experience in children’s residential care, including experience in a supervisory or management role.
You should have a strong understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations, Ofsted frameworks and safeguarding practices, along with the ability to manage complex behaviours and lead a team effectively. A full UK driving licence is also required.
Desirable
Experience achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings, opening or registering new homes, or working within therapeutic or trauma-informed care models would be advantageous.
