Role
- Registered Manager of a new residential children’s home
- Responsible for the overall leadership, management, and development of the service
- Supporting children aged 8–18 with complex behavioural, emotional, and social needs
- Ensuring high-quality care, safeguarding, and compliance with all regulations
- Leading, managing, and developing a staff team to deliver outstanding practice
- Managing referrals, occupancy levels, and placement stability
- Ensuring care plans, risk assessments, and transitions are effectively managed
- Liaising with Ofsted, local authorities, and external professionals
- Managing budgets, staffing rotas, recruitment, and performance
- Participating in an on-call rota system
- Promoting children’s participation, voice, and engagement in the home
Person Specification
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards within 6 months)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare within the last 5 years
- At least 1 year of experience supervising or managing staff
- Proven leadership and staff management experience
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practice
- Experience managing compliance, budgets, and operational performance
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with external agencies and stakeholders
- Full UK driving licence (desirable)
- Experience as a Deputy or Registered Manager (desirable)
- Experience in a new home or service development (desirable)
