Role Description
The Practice Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Bournemouth Area. This role oversees day-to-day practice operations, including scheduling, patient flow, and front-desk processes to ensure a smooth and efficient experience.
The Practice Manager monitors administrative and financial activities, supports billing and reporting, and ensures compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
Responsibilities include supervising and developing practice staff, coordinating with clinicians, managing vendors and supplies, and implementing process improvements.
The role also involves handling escalated patient concerns, supporting quality initiatives, and contributing to strategic planning for practice growth.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing healthcare or medical practice operations, including schedules, workflows, and administrative processes.
- Strong people-management skills, with experience in supervising, coaching, and supporting diverse teams in a clinical or office setting.
- Solid understanding of basic budgeting, billing, and reporting, with the ability to interpret data and support financial decision-making.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient confidentiality standards, and best practices in patient-centred care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with patients, clinicians, and staff.
- Proficiency with practice management software, electronic record systems, and general office tools (e.g., spreadsheets, scheduling applications).
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Prior experience in primary care, outpatient clinics, or similar healthcare environments is highly beneficial.
- Relevant education such as a diploma or degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
