Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Care Home Manager role based in Peterborough. The Care Home Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring safe, person-centred care and compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards. Key responsibilities include leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams, managing staffing levels and rotas, and overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing staff development.
The role involves monitoring clinical outcomes and care plans, managing budgets and resources, and maintaining accurate records and reporting. The Care Home Manager will also build positive relationships with residents, families, external partners, and regulatory bodies, handle complaints and concerns professionally, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in care home or healthcare management, including oversight of residential, nursing, or dementia services.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop diverse teams.
- Sound understanding of regulatory frameworks, quality standards, and safeguarding principles within the care sector.
- Proficiency in care planning, risk assessment, and documentation, with strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills with residents, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Experience in budget management, resource planning, and basic financial reporting within a care setting.
- Relevant health or social care qualification (e.g., NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in elderly and dementia care and familiarity with best practice in person-centred care is an advantage.
- Ability to work flexibly, respond calmly to emergencies, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo all required background and reference checks.
