About Us
Elders Voice
Elders Voice is a small, community-focused charity that has been supporting older people in the London Borough of Brent since 1993. The organisation focuses on providing practical support, social opportunities, and specialised services to ensure that residents aged 55 and over can lead independent, healthy, and fulfilling lives.
Who We Are
Elders Voice is a local social care charity that serves as a vital resource for older adults who wish to remain active and connected to their community. Originally born out of a self-help group called Pensioners Link, the charity is built on the belief that older people should be treated as individuals with unique, rich histories rather than a "homogeneous mass."
The organisation is led by a dedicated Board of Trustees and a small professional team that works closely with local partners, including Brent Council and other voluntary sector groups. Their model is designed to bridge the generational divide, frequently bringing different age groups together to foster a sense of belonging and mutual respect.
Everything the charity does is geared toward preventing isolation and enabling older people to live in the homes of their choosing for as long as possible.

Approach & Values
Elders Voice focuses on dignity, individuality, and community empowerment.
They prioritise co-design, ensuring that their activities and services are shaped by the older adults who use them. Their approach is built on the idea that "the opposite of independence is not being dependent, it is community," shifting the focus from seeing older people as a "burden" to celebrating them as a vital asset to society.
A strong emphasis is placed on holistic support, addressing not just the physical needs of ageing but the emotional and social needs that are equally essential for a "worthwhile journey."
Industry Role
Elders Voice plays a crucial role in the voluntary and community sector of North West London.
As a key partner in Age-Friendly Brent, the charity contributes to local policy discussions regarding transport, accessibility, and public spaces, ensuring that decision-makers hear the "voice" of older residents.
They offer a variety of volunteering and employment opportunities for those passionate about social care, acting as a hub for community engagement and local advocacy for the elderly.
