At The Healthcare Management Trust (HMT), we are a registered UK charity (Charity No. 292880) and company limited by guarantee dedicated to delivering not-for-profit health and social care across England and Wales. Founded originally in 1985 as The Hospital Management Trust, our mission is to preserve, promote, and develop the independent charitable healthcare sector, ensuring that high standards of clinical and residential care remain accessible, patient-focused, and independent of purely commercial motives.

Who We Are

We operate as an established charitable trust owning and managing independent hospitals and specialised care homes for older people. Beyond direct service provision, we actively support, advise, and collaborate with other charitable and religious health organisations across the UK to help them sustain and grow their community impact.

What We Do

We deliver an integrated range of medical, surgical, and older person residential services:

• Independent Planned Surgical Hospitals: Operating not-for-profit acute and specialised surgical hospitals that provide high-standard elective medical procedures and clinical care.
• Care of the Older Person Homes: Providing 24-hour person-centred residential and dementia care within specialised community environments.
• Sector Support & Consultancy: Offering strategic management, development oversight, and quality assurance programs for charitable hospitals and social care providers.
