Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team in Worcestershire. In this role, you will provide essential care and assistance to young persons (young person domiciliary care with each call being 2 hours on the minimum).
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality person-centred care to young persons with diverse needs, including those requiring Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and hospice care.
- Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to the young person, fostering a positive environment.
- Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours.
- Conduct light housekeeping duties as needed to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
- Provide young persons with care as dictated by the care plan.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Document care provided and report any changes in the young person's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Drive young person to appointments or activities as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with young persons within a care setting is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in domiciliary care is desirable.,
- Knowledge of first aid procedures is essential; certification preferred.
- Access to a car that can be used for work is advantageous. Mileage would be paid at 45p per mile.
- A full UK driving license is essential because the role involves transporting young persons.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with young people and their families.
