This is an exciting time to join the Emergency Department, as we have recently completed our £8 million rebuild to enhance the patient journey.
We introduced dynamic patient pathways to improve patient flow and experience, resulting in significant improvements in the department’s performance.

Duties
- We're looking for a motivated, committed, flexible, and approachable emergency nurse with at least two years’ experience as a Band 5 Staff Nurse.
- They need to be competent in IV administration, oral medications, cannulation, venepuncture, and have passed streaming assessments.
- They should also demonstrate a team-oriented approach and strong managerial and leadership skills.
- The post holder will deliver patient care daily.
- They should be experts in all areas of nursing care, from patient admission through discharge, to facilitate clinical practice development.
- As the nurse in charge, they have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of their clinical area and for ensuring that all care is delivered in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, and for maintaining associated records.
- They will manage, support, and lead a team of nurses in delivering high-standard, evidence-based, patient-centred care.
- They will assist the senior sister in managing staff, including appraisals, rotas, recruitment and selection, and learner supervision.
- They will provide advice and support to patients, relatives, and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Using clinical audit, research, supervision of practice, and teaching, they will monitor and improve standards of care by using resources efficiently and effectively, and liaise with the senior sister at all times.
- They will provide leadership on the Trust's values and behaviours.
