Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing behavior, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals
- Support medication administration following HIPAA regulations and care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance
- Document patient progress, update care plans, and ensure compliance with healthcare standards such as CPR and first aid protocols
Qualifications
- Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
- Certification in CPR, first aid, or hospice care is preferred; willingness to obtain necessary certifications upon hire
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks required for patient mobility support
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, and families
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support individuals’ independence and quality of life
