Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Croydon – CR0 3DN & SW16 4BD
Pay: £50,000 – £62,000 per annum
Full-Time | Permanent | 12 Month fixed-term contract
We are recruiting for two experienced Registered Managers to lead newly opening children’s residential homes in Croydon and Streatham.
These are exciting opportunities to join a growing care provider supporting children aged 6–17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in therapeutic, trauma-informed environments.
The homes include:
- 1 solo placement home
- 1 two-bedded home
Both homes are located within South London and are opening as part of an ambitious growth plan.
The Role
You will be responsible for opening, leading, and developing a children’s home to deliver outstanding outcomes for young people. You’ll lead a dedicated care team, ensure regulatory compliance, and create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Registered Manager or a strong Deputy Manager already operating at a high level within children’s residential care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day running of a children’s residential home
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Regulations
- Promote trauma-informed and therapeutic care practices
- Lead, mentor, and develop residential staff teams
- Manage safeguarding, care planning, and risk assessments
- Build strong relationships with local authorities and external professionals
- Drive positive Ofsted outcomes and continuous improvement
- Support the development and growth of future services
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience within a children’s residential home
- Current or recent experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in children’s residential care
- Proven experience working with EBD young people
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
- Strong understanding of Ofsted standards and inspections
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
- Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Croydon/South London
