The Service
We are a care provider offering specialist 24-hour care and support to Asian women who have learning disabilities and complex health needs. We operate across one care home and three small, supported living units in Brighton.
You will help plan and support our residents to live their lives as independently as possible and assist in the house with tasks such as cooking, baking and laundry. We have a fantastic team of care workers who are passionate about their work.
Job Role
We are looking for dedicated, passionate Support Workers to join our team in our Care Home in Brighton. Full and part-time opportunities available. You must be able to work flexibly, between service locations, covering a mixture of shifts during the week, weekends, night shifts and sleep-ins.
You will be supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, challenging behaviour, and physiological and mental health needs within our care home schemes.
- Support personal care: washing, bathing, dressing, toileting and maintaining dignity.
- Administer medication safely, following training and organisational guidance.
- Support residents with mobility needs, including safe use of hoists, wheelchairs, slings and other aids.
- Provide hands-on support for wheelchair users (transfers, positioning, pressure care awareness).
- Act as a key worker: keep care plans, risk assessments and daily records accurate and up to date.
- Assist with appointments, shopping, budgeting and financial support as required.
- Prepare meals, support dietary needs, and assist with household tasks (laundry, cleaning, bed changes).
- Encourage and enable meaningful activities, community access, hobbies and social inclusion.
- Identify risks, contribute to risk management plans and follow safeguarding procedures.
- Work collaboratively with families, advocates and professionals; attend reviews and meetings.
- Report significant changes in health, behaviour or circumstances to the Area Manager promptly.
- Attend mandatory training, supervision and vocational qualifications; implement learning.
- Be flexible to work across supported living sites and the residential care home as needed.
- Promote independence and autonomy while ensuring safety and wellbeing.

Person Specification
Relevant experience is essential, along with flexibility to work on a shift rota basis covering early and late shifts, waking nights, sleep shifts, some weekends and bank holidays.
Excellent listening and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to demonstrate a good standard of written, verbal and numeracy skills, as well as good basic IT skills. You will need to be a great team player, motivated, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships.
