Nursing Home Manager
Location: West London, Ealing Borough
Salary: From £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Reports to: Operations Manager
Contract: Permanent
As Nursing Home Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the operational, clinical, financial, and commercial performance of the home. You will lead and inspire your team to deliver outstanding care whilst ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and achieving business objectives.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Home Manager, Deputy Manager, or Clinical Manager looking to join a progressive and growing organisation.
An active RGN qualification with a current NMC PIN is desirable but not essential. Candidates with strong nursing home management experience will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Quality of Care
- Lead the day-to-day management of the home.
- Ensure residents receive safe, effective, responsive, caring, and well-led services.
- Promote a culture of dignity, respect, independence, and person-centred care.
- Ensure all residents have accurate and regularly reviewed care plans and risk assessments.
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards of care delivery.
- Monitor quality through audits, observations, feedback, and action plans.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards and all relevant legislation.
- Lead inspections and maintain positive relationships with regulators and commissioners.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Fire Safety, COSHH, Infection Prevention & Control, RIDDOR, and safeguarding requirements.
- Manage incidents, complaints, investigations, and statutory notifications effectively.
Team Management
- Recruit, develop, motivate, and retain high-performing staff teams.
- Ensure safe staffing levels and appropriate skill mix at all times.
- Manage performance, supervision, appraisals, disciplinary processes, and training compliance.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and values-led culture.
Financial & Commercial Performance
- Manage budgets and expenditure effectively.
- Drive occupancy and maximise revenue opportunities.
- Develop strong relationships with local authorities, NHS professionals, families, and community stakeholders.
- Promote the home within the local community and support business development activities.
- Monitor debt management, purchasing, and cost control to achieve financial targets.
Operational Management
- Ensure the home environment remains safe, welcoming, and well-maintained.
- Oversee medication management, maintenance, housekeeping, catering, and activities.
- Maintain effective systems, records, and governance processes.
- Work collaboratively with senior leadership to deliver strategic objectives.
Person Specification
Essential
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Nursing Home Manager, Home Manager, or Deputy Manager within elderly care, nursing, or residential services.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and quality standards.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Experience managing budgets, occupancy, and operational performance.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to lead service improvements and achieve positive outcomes.
Desirable
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification.
- Active NMC PIN.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
- Experience managing nursing home services.
