Common Thread has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Therapeutic Support Worker to join us at our Service near Lockerbie. Common Thread provides Residential Child Care and Education across Scotland. Our homes are modelled on nurturing, supportive and small family environments.

The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced worker in Residential Child Care to support the House Manager in leading the day-to-day operations of one of our residential homes. This is a key leadership role, responsible for creating a stable, safe and caring environment for the young people in our care, while supporting and developing a team of Therapeutic Support workers.
We offer shift patterns which promote healthy psychological and physical recovery. Our model for full-time workers being 48 hour shift, three days off, 48-hour shift and four days off. Working 10 days out of a 28-day rota. 5 Return journeys in 4 weeks.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within residential care or a relevant field
- Relevant professional qualifications: HNC Social Care. SVQ level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People or equivalent is essential.
- SVQ level 4 Social Services (Children and Young People or equivalent is desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
- A trauma-informed approach and understanding of complex behavioural needs
- Ability to work flexibly, participating in sleepover shifts and on call, which will involve weekend working.
- Full UK driving license
