Role summary
More Energy Care Services is seeking a Live-In Carer to support an individual in their home in Devon. You will provide practical, respectful care and companionship, helping the person maintain their preferred routines, independence and wellbeing. You will work in a person-centred way, following agreed care plans and communicating clearly about any changes in needs or circumstances.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day personal care and practical support in line with the individual’s care plan, preferences and dignity.
- Offer companionship and encourage independence, choice and participation in suitable daily activities.
- Assist with everyday tasks such as meal preparation and keeping the home environment safe and comfortable, as agreed.
- Support safe mobility and follow any relevant guidance for moving and handling.
- Observe and report changes in the person’s health, mood or wellbeing to the appropriate contact.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow safeguarding, health and safety, and infection prevention procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience in care or a strong interest in supporting people in their own homes.
- A compassionate, patient and dependable approach, with respect for individual choices and privacy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work responsibly while living in the person’s home.
- Willingness to follow care plans, learn relevant procedures and raise concerns appropriately.
- Relevant care training or qualifications would be an advantage.
