Flexible Community Nurse
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Ipswich Community Teams for a part- time Flexible Community Nurse. We are seeking a caring and motivated nurse to join our professional and dynamic Peripatetic Team.
You will have the opportunity to be part of a small team led by a Band 6 to support across our Integrated Neighbourhood Teams in Ipswich, which consist of Band 3 - 5s.
Experience of palliative care, wound management, venepuncture and catheter management will be an advantage. However, you will be supported in the teams with a comprehensive, tailored induction dependent on experience. We offer a variety of training to gain additional skills and maintain clinical knowledge.
You will be using a wide range of nursing skills and will need to be confident in your assessment and in your ability to provide safe, effective treatments in a community setting.
Integrated Neighbourhood Teams consist of Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Generic Workers, Assistant Practitioners, Social Workers, and Independent Wellbeing Practitioners. The teams provide holistic assessments and treatments for patients in their own homes, whilst reducing hospital admissions and supporting timely discharges.
Duties
Due to this post being within the community, the successful candidate needs to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle.
- To provide clinical and supervisory leadership to junior staff and students within the team
- To be responsible for the day-to-day planning and delivery of the nursing service within the community healthcare team
- To manage a caseload of patients with multiple and complex needs, using evidence-based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions with the patient at the centre
- To provide specialist nursing input into planning, development and evaluation of clinical services within the team
