Suppleo Healthcare is currently working with a national children's and younger adults provider and is looking for a registered children's home manager to help run a small unit in Swansea

Overview
We are seeking a positive, dedicated, and experienced Registered Home Manager to oversee accommodation, care, and support for Children in Looked After Care aged 11-17 years old.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about transforming lives, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and have a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children and staff in your care.
This role involves working closely with our Statement of Purpose and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements whilst creating a life-changing environment for our young people.
The care home will provide accommodation, care, and support services for CYP who may have had a traumatic upbringing resulting in behaviour that challenges.
Children will be 8–17-year-olds, in looked after care with a range of support needs including behavior that challenges, physical sensory or learning disability, and/or autism spectrum disorder.
Responsibilities
- Management of day-to-day operations within the care home, always ensuring the welfare of staff and children
- Building a safe, positive, and preventative environment in which staff and children are heard, understood, and supported
- Ensure that the highest standards of care are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements, including our Statement of Purpose
- Lead the senior and residential care team; set work rotas, provide supervision and coaching, ensure all training is attained, and ensure high-quality care is delivered consistently.
- Develop, implement, and review individual care plans tailored to each child's needs, promoting their physical, emotional, and social development. Ensure that each plan represents the child's individuality.
- Administer medication as prescribed and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
- Foster an empowering environment for children, encouraging their participation in decisions and activities that involve them and relate to their personal growth.

- Collaborate with Local Authority and Healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to coordinate care effectively.
- Monitor the wellbeing of children in the facility, addressing any concerns promptly and appropriately.
- Continuous improvement of the way in which our Home operates, to maximise the best outcomes for staff andopportunities for children
Experience
- Minimum 2 years management experience within Children’s home care, Social Work, Nursing home, or Assisted living setting (Essential)
- Strong understanding of child development and safeguarding practices (Essential)
- Strong knowledge of care regulations and medication administration protocols
- Experience of building a culture of Positive Behaviour Management and/or other best practices in CYP care environments (Essential)
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively while promoting a positive workplace culture. (Essential)
- Understanding of de-escalation and diffusion practices (Essential)
- Proven experience in medication administration within a care home or nursing home environment (Essential)
- Experience in working with and delivering to Care Plans (Essential)
- Build a positive workplace culture that encourages teamwork, professional development, and high standards of care (Essential).
- Experience of working with young people with physical, sensory, or learning disabilities, and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (Desirable)
- Ensure effective communication with residents and external agencies regarding care services and resident needs (Desirable).
- Assessment of resident health and well-being, making necessary adjustments to care plans as required (Desirable).
- Maintain accurate records of resident care, staff performance, and facility operations (Essential)
Qualifications & Training
- Level 5 Health and Social Care / Residential Childcare (Essential)
- Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
