Special Care Worker - (Relocation to Dublin)
Cpl Healthcare is recruiting Special Care Workers on behalf of Tusla Child and Family Agency to join their Special Care Units in Dublin West (Lucan) and North Dublin (Portrane).
You'll work directly with young people aged 11–17 who require short-term, stabilising care in a secure therapeutic environment. This is a genuinely meaningful role — one where your work has a direct, lasting impact on some of the most vulnerable young people in the care system.
Shifts span days, nights, and overnights; flexibility across the rota is required.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing and contributing to individual Care and Placement Plans
- Advocating for each young person's rights, welfare, and participation in decisions affecting them
- Supporting physical, emotional, social, educational, and personal development
- Engaging in therapeutic activities and age-appropriate play
- Coordinating with families, parents, and external agencies
- Conducting physical interventions in line with local policy
- Maintaining accurate records and attending team and review meetings
- Adhering to HIQA standards, child protection procedures, and relevant legislation
- Participating in ongoing training and professional development
Salary & Benefits
Salary scale (from 01.02.2026): Point 1: €37,555, Point 2: €39,378, Point 3: €40,508, Point 4: €41,696, Point 5: €42,517, Point 6: €43,696, Point 7: €45,524, Point 8: €46,712, Point 9: €47,898, Point 10: €50,883, Point 11: €52,393, Point 12: €54,244, Point 13: €56,145, Point 14: €58,086, Point 15: €59,711, Point 16: €61,892, Point 17: €61,892, Point 18: €61,892, Point 19: €64,885, Point 20: €64,885, Point 21: €64,885, Point 22: €64,885, Point 23: €68,850 (incremental scale, subject to Government pay policy)
Please note, Tusla may recruit up to Point 5 (€42,517) where relevant experience or prior study is demonstrated.
Annual Special Care Allowance: €2,756 (in addition to salary)

What We're Looking For
You'll meet one of the following criteria:
- CORU registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board (preferred)
- Eligibility for CORU registration, with supporting evidence
- A relevant qualification in one of the following fields, with commitment to pursuing a social care qualification pathway:
- Youth and Community Work
- BA (Hons) Youth and Community Development
- BA (Hons) Psychology
- Addiction Studies (Level 7)
- BA (Hons) Counselling and Addiction Studies
- Disability Diploma (Primary Care)
- Social Science degree (minimum Level 7)
All candidates must have the professional knowledge, ability, and suitability to fulfil the duties of the role, and must hold valid work authorisation in Ireland.
