To lead this expanding footprint, we are looking for an ambitious, operationally strong leader to step into the crucial role of Registered Manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Operational & Growth Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day running of our supported living services across Devon, managing a robust team of over 60 care staff as the provision scales.
- Regulatory Excellence & Compliance: Act as the CQC Registered Manager for the service. Maintain thorough, inspection-ready evidence meeting CQC Quality Statements and fundamental standards.
- Stakeholder & Multi-Agency Liaison: Build and maintain excellent working relationships with local authorities, Devon/Torbay commissioners, community multidisciplinary teams (MDTs), and families.
- Workforce Management: Collaborate closely with the 4-person Torquay office team to direct recruitment, roster optimization, compliance auditing, and staff development.
- Team Development & Culture: Mentor and inspire Team Leaders and Support Workers, cultivating a culture of robust safeguarding, reflective practice, and high performance.
What We Are Looking For (Person Specification)
We value transferable leadership skills, commercial acumen, and deep framework knowledge. You will be an ideal fit if you meet either of these professional backgrounds:
- The Care Management Route: An experienced Registered Manager, Locality Manager, or Deputy Care Manager within supported living or complex care environments holding a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- The Practitioner/Public Sector Route: A Senior Social Worker, Social Work Team Leader, or Healthcare Practitioner (e.g., Occupational Therapist / Nurse) looking to transition their skills into independent sector leadership.
- Note: If you come from this route, we will fully fund and support your transition to achieving CQC Registered Status and any required leadership qualifications.
Core Competencies Needed:
- Comprehensive understanding of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and DoLS/LPS frameworks.
- Proven experience navigating Devon/local authority funding pathways and managing complex safeguarding incidents.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to advocate fiercely for service users while managing expanding commercial realities.
- A full UK driving license with access to a vehicle for travel across the Devon area.
