Role Description
- The Responsible Individual role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bognor Regis.
- The role involves overseeing the safe and effective delivery of designated services, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring service performance, supporting staff to follow agreed procedures, maintaining accurate records, and escalating concerns or incidents appropriately.
- The Responsible Individual will collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams, contribute to audits and reviews, and take part in meetings to improve service quality and patient experience.
- The postholder is expected to model NHS values, promote a culture of accountability, and support continuous improvement within their area of responsibility.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a health, social care, or public service environment with responsibility for service delivery, governance, or compliance.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage risk, and meet deadlines in a busy setting.
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, service users, families, and external partners.
- Understanding of relevant legislation, regulatory standards, and NHS policies, or a willingness to develop this knowledge quickly.
- Proven ability to maintain accurate documentation, prepare reports, and contribute to audits, inspections, and quality improvement activities.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and to promoting the rights, dignity, and safety of all service users.
- Competence with standard IT tools (e.g., email, electronic records systems, spreadsheets) and willingness to learn local systems.
- Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in health, social care, or management; registration with a professional body is desirable where applicable.
