About the Role
As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you'll play a key role in providing consistent, high-quality care and support to young people who may have experienced trauma, instability and significant challenges.
You'll help create a home that is safe, structured, calm and nurturing.
You'll support young people with their daily routines, education, emotional wellbeing and development, while helping them develop independence and essential life skills.
You'll also help young people manage difficult emotions and behaviours through patience, consistency, positive relationships and clear boundaries.
Most importantly, you'll be a reliable and positive adult who a young person can trust.
What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Providing high-quality, child-centred care.
- Supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Helping young people regulate their emotions and develop coping strategies.
- Promoting positive behaviour through consistency and clear boundaries.
- Supporting education, appointments, routines and activities.
- Encouraging independence and developing life skills.
- Creating a warm, safe and welcoming home environment.
- Advocating for the young person's wishes, feelings and needs.
- Completing accurate daily records, reports and care documentation.
- Working effectively with colleagues and external professionals.
- Following safeguarding procedures and care plans.
- Supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
Your Working Hours
7:00am – 10:00pm, with sleep-in shifts as required.
Sleep-in payment: £70 per shift.
This is a hands-on role where you'll be actively involved in the day-to-day lives of the young people we support.
Who We're Looking For

Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in Children’s Residential Care – essential
- Minimum 12 months' experience in a similar role
- Experience working with children and young people who can display challenging behaviours
- Full UK driving licence – essential
- Right to work in the UK
