What You'll Be Doing
As a Care Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting residents to live comfortably, safely, and independently while maintaining their dignity and individuality.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and other daily living activities.
- Providing emotional, physical, social, and practical support tailored to individual needs.
- Building meaningful relationships with residents and getting to know their life stories, interests, and preferences.
- Assisting residents with mobility needs and promoting independence wherever possible.
- Supporting residents living with dementia, confusion, or other complex needs with patience and compassion.
- Promoting comfort, dignity, and wellbeing at all times.
- Assisting with continence care and monitoring residents' wellbeing.
- Supporting residents receiving palliative or end-of-life care.
- Observing and recording changes in residents' wellbeing and reporting concerns to senior team members.
- Completing daily care documentation accurately and in line with company policies.
- Encouraging residents to participate in activities, hobbies, and social events that bring enjoyment and purpose.
- Welcoming visitors and helping create a warm, family atmosphere throughout the home.
- Answering nurse call systems and responding promptly to residents' needs.
- Maintaining clean, safe, and comfortable living environments.
- Supporting the wider team to ensure every resident receives the highest standard of care.
