Residential Child Care Worker (Night Shift)
Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: £26,812.50 – £28,138.50 per year
Additional earnings available through overtime and optional sleepover shifts (£82 per sleep)
We are looking for a calm and reliable nightshift worker to support vulnerable young people, providing a safe and reassuring presence throughout the night, with opportunities to increase earnings through overtime and optional sleepover shifts.
This is a role where your presence and consistency can have a real impact on a young person’s sense of safety and wellbeing.
This is a waking nightshift role with no contractual sleepover requirement, ideal for someone who prefers a quieter working environment and is confident working independently while providing consistent, calm support.
You will support young people overnight by carrying out wellbeing checks, responding to any needs, maintaining a safe and settled environment, and completing records.
You will also help prepare the home for the day ahead while working as part of a supportive and experienced team who value communication and consistency.
Requirements:
- Experience supporting vulnerable young people
- Understanding of trauma and its impact
- Knowledge of Children’s Rights, The Promise and GIRFEC
- At least one relevant qualification (SVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence
